DEREK...Our Graduate!

Derek is now a graduate from Plano East Senior High School!  I can't believe he is this old and that he is already getting his mission papers ready to turn in...(I need to have a moment of silence while I shed a tear or two).  I tried posting a baby picture of him but the file I have won't transfer over.  He was such a darling baby and has always been a cutie.  Derek is such a fun and out-going kid!  My life would be WAY different if he weren't a part of it!  He keeps me laughing at all times with his quick wit and silly ways.  It is so hard to stay mad at the kid!!  He just frustrates me because he knows how to charm me and get me laughing at him.  I adore this boy for so many reasons...he has a huge heart that loves all people of all walks of life.  He has a tender spot for those who are special needs or whose life is less fortunate.  He is a friend to everyone and is never shy or afraid to talk to anyone.  He is definitly comfortable in his own skin.  I crack up over some of his ideas of life and what kind of person he thinks he'll marry and his enthusiasm for the different.  Ambition is his name!  I've always said he was an over-acheiver and there really isn't anything he won't try or can't do!  He sticks to what he knows is right and NO ONE  can persuade him otherwise. Now that he is no longer in school I will greatly miss seeing him perform and sing.  He has such talent and he shines while he's on stage.  Granted, anyone who knows Derek knows he is a ham!!  But that also is what makes him such a fun and entertaining performer.  I just have to say how much I dearly love this boy.  He has taught me so much by his example and often gives me advice when I'm floundering over problems.  He has been my guardian many times while taking care of me when my seizures kick in.  He's there...and always saying, "Mom it's okay...I'm not afraid.  Give me your hand, just relax and know I'm here."  He gives me strength.  I rely on him more than he'll ever know for multiple reasons.  I am so blessed to be able to call him my son and even more honored when he calls me "Mom".  I Love you Derek.  You Are My Sunshine. 

                             

Soon To Come...I Promise!!

I am so far behind it isn't even funy!  So much has happened these past couple of months that I need to catch up on.  What is to come is...Derek's graduation, Chandler's homecoming, Eddy and Miken's wedding, our Yellowstone adventures and the Reception down here.  It has all been so great and fun!   Having our whole family together again was more fun than you can imagine.  Our time in Utah was beyond great because so many of my family members were there and whenever we are together it is DRAMA...WE CALL IT EXCITEMENT!  That's what it's all about...family ties that bind and stay bound over the years.  Check back soon because I'll be posting...(hopefully).
